French authorities have announced a conditional extension of the use of default CO2 emission values for importers under the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Default values were originally allowed until the third quarter but have been extended till the end of the year if importers fail to receive actual emission values from suppliers after considerable efforts.
